Shandong Green Building Materials Association Conference Report
On June 5, 2024, the Shandong Building Energy Efficiency Association held its Chairman's Work Meeting in Jinan to thoroughly review past efforts, plan for the second half of the year, and enhance the association's service capabilities and influence. The meeting was chaired by Li Chao, Secretary-General of the association, with the aim of reflecting on the achievements of the past year, discussing future development directions, and promoting continuous progress in the field of building energy efficiency.
The conference began with an enthusiastic opening speech by Yin Tao, Party Secretary of Shandong Urban Construction Vocational College. He expressed gratitude to the chairpersons, vice-chairpersons, and member units for their support and participation, reaffirming the college’s commitment to backing the association’s initiatives. Secretary Yin’s speech set a positive and motivating tone for the event.
Following this, Qi Huaijun, General Manager of Shandong Times Plastic Co., Ltd. (the rotating chairman unit), delivered a work report. He provided a detailed review of the association’s accomplishments over the past year, including policy advocacy, technology promotion, and project collaborations. He also highlighted the challenges and issues currently facing the building energy efficiency sector, proposing potential solutions and recommendations. Mr. Qi emphasized that the proportion of green building materials used in actual projects still falls short of national requirements and called on the association to provide policy support—within its capacity—to manufacturers of green building materials, as well as construction enterprises and projects utilizing such materials. His report, rich in content and supported by concrete data, offered valuable insights for attendees.
Subsequently, participants actively listened to opinions and suggestions from the rotating chairpersons and vice-chairpersons regarding the association’s work. Engaging discussions took place on pressing issues in the building energy efficiency sector, with attendees exploring collaborative solutions and opportunities. This interactive exchange not only fostered mutual understanding and cooperation but also injected fresh vitality into the industry’s development.
Finally, Shi Yongpeng, Director of the Energy Conservation and Technology Division of the Shandong Provincial Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, delivered a concluding speech. He fully acknowledged the association’s achievements over the past year and outlined expectations for its future work. Director Shi’s remarks not only provided clear guidance for the association but also offered strong support for the broader advancement of building energy efficiency in the region.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to drive innovation, policy alignment, and industry collaboration to accelerate the adoption of green building practices across Shandong.
